Bellville General Hospital is located in
Bellville, Texas, county seat of Austin County. The population of
Austin County is 28,417, according to the 2010 U.S. Census report.
We are the only hospital in the county.
Located some 60 miles west of Houston, Texas, we
offer quality healthcare without the inconvenience of a metropolitan
facility.
We are a licensed 32-bed acute care facility,
fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of
Healthcare Organizations (TJC). We are members of the Texas
Hospital Association, the American Hospital Association, and the
Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals (TORCH).
Bellville General Hospital is certified by the U.S. Department of
Health and Human Services (Medicare) and participates in the
Medicaid program.
Bellville General Hospital is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit hospital located on 4.197 acres of land just 4 blocks from the historic courthouse square of downtown Bellville.
Located at 44 N. Cummings Street, the hospital and
adjoining professional building offer patients "small-town
friendliness" coupled with a staff of dedicated caregivers,
including multi-specialty physicians, nurses, therapists,
dietitians, technicians and support staff.
At BGH, we concentrate on primary care for
patients of all ages. We offer internal medicine, family practice,
ophthalmology, orthopedics, surgery, radiology, urology, gynecology,
pediatrics, gastroenterology, podiatry, ENT, otolaryngology,
anesthesiology, respiratory therapy, physical rehabilitation, ACR
certified dedicated mammography, ultra sound, CAT scan, MRI,
oncology/hematology, pathology, swing bed, outpatient services, a full-service laboratory
and 24-hour emergency care.

Dr. Robert G. Aguilar, DPM
Welcome isn’t really an appropriate announcement as Dr. Aguilar has had privileges here at BGH for years. But beginning March 21st, Dr. Robert Aguilar will be seeing patients locally in the Specialty Clinic, Suite 107. Dr. Aguilar is a podiatrist with Brazos Valley Foot Care, with main office in Bryan, TX. So, if you have problems with a bunion, hammer toe, heel spur, neuroma or any other foot problems, give Dr. Aguilar a call and set up an appointment to be seen here locally. For an appointment, call (979) 776-6060 and tell them you want to be seen in Bellville. The Specialty Clinic was designed to provide office space for physicians who have a primary office elsewhere but rotate through the local office weekly offering their services, thereby keeping patients ‘at home’ for their healthcare needs. Other physicians utilizing the Specialty Clinic include allergy, OB/GYN, cardiology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, oncology and neurosurgical needs. The Specialty Clinic is located in the adjacent BGH medical/professional building, with plenty of parking available.
GOLFERS—GET READY
Before you know it, it will be May and that means the annual C. Gaylen Ackley Memorial Golf Classic that benefits Bellville Hospital Foundation. This will be the 12th annual event and the eleventh year the event has been named for our dear friend and supporter, Gaylen Ackley. Always on the Third Friday in May, this year’s event will be Friday, May 18th at the beautiful Stephen F. Austin Golf Course in nearby San Felipe. Aren’t on our mailing list? Give Margie Lovell a call and she will be happy to add your name. Packets are being readied and will soon be in the mail, so get your team together and send in your money as this one fills up quickly every year! Entry fee: $125 per player. No more than 1 player on the four-person team may have a handicap of 6 or less! Great event, Great prizes, Great food and drinks! Great fellowship and GREAT FUNDRAISING!!! Be a part of this annual event that draws golfers from across the state to remember Gaylen and support Bellville General Hospital.

Dr. Wilford V. Morris, Jr., with the Medical Clinic of Bellville, is an approved Aviation Medical Examiner (AME). So, if you are in need of an F.A.A. Flight Physical, call 979-865-0100 to make an appointment. For those of you who don’t know, the Medical Clinic of Bellville is owned by Bellville General Hospital and is located at 235 W. Palm, Suite 108, Bellville, TX. (That’s next door to Optimum Rehab, in the professional bldg. adjacent to the hospital).

Bellville General Hospital has a new direct telephone number….(979) 413-7400. Well, it’s not that new anymore, but we are still trying to get the word out that you can call departments direct now, bypassing the main switchboard. So check out the phone numbers for our various departments elsewhere on this website. We’ll still answer the old number, but one of these days it is going away and you need to make the change to the new number! Come by the business office and ask for a refrigerator magnet with the new phone number. Sometimes we give away ink pens or coolers with the new number, so stop by and see what goody you’ll get!

Owned and operated by the Bellville Hospital Auxiliary Volunteers, the shop offers great prices on a variety of decorative pieces, home furnishings and clothing.
